Brandon Heath, Jason Castro and Lindsay McCaul perform at Living Water Benefit in Dallas

28 Sep
ONE28, a non-denominational college Bible study which meets weekly on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas gathered for a night of great music and a worthy cause on Sept. 22 — to raise funds for water wells in Africa.

The concert began with new artist Lindsay McCaul, whose reflective and relatable lyrics about desiring to make a difference in this world were a fitting way to kick off the evening. One of the songs she performed, “Ready,” is available as a free mp3 download on her website, www.lindsaymccaul.com. Definitely keep an eye on this rising star!

Next came Texas-native and American Idol finalist Jason Castro, who won over millions of viewers during the show’s seventh season. In addition to performing his trademark renditions of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Hallelujah” and “Let’s Just Fall in Love Again,” Castro announced that he is releasing a Christian EP on November 9. He tested the new material on the college students, who unanimously approved. For more about Jason Castro, check out www.jasoncastromusic.com

In addition to popular songs such as “Wait and See,” “I’m Not Who I Was,” and “Give Me Your Eyes,” Brandon Heath performed some of the songs which will be on his new album, Leaving Eden. Let me just say, these songs are absolutely INCREDIBLE!

Definitely mark your calendar and get this album on January 18! You will not be disappointed! Also, if you need a gift idea for friends or family members, it would be wise to give this CD as a late Christmas present / Happy New Year’s gift / or early Valentine’s gift — whatever occasion you want to call it, this music is too good not to share with others! It’s like the gift that keeps on giving! For more about Brandon Heath, check out www.brandonheath.net.

These three artists put on a fantastic concert while helping to raise awareness and funds for a desperate need. For more information about Living Water International, check out www.water.cc.
