Christian and country music often share a fan base. So, if you’re a fan of Blake Shelton and/or Dave Barnes, you will enjoy this tidbit of info. Blake Shelton recorded Dave’s hit song, “God Gave Me You,” on his brand-new album, Red River Blue. Shelton released the song to radio as his second single from the album, and it’s currently shooting up the charts.
He discovered the song when flipping channels in his truck after having a fight with then girlfriend, now wife Miranda Lambert. When Shelton landed on a local Christian station and heard the song, he immediately called his producer to say that this was definitely a song he wanted to record on his new album. He felt it did a beautiful job of describing his relationship with Lambert.
Turns out the award-winning country singer’s new album landed at the top of the Billboard charts just this week. Check out both versions of the song below. And Dave, keep checkin’ your mailbox for those royalty checks!

Dave..
Dave’s!!
I may be partial because I’m a big DB fan, but his version is definitely better. The original one almost always is, especially when the original artist is also the lyricist.
Blake is better
Blake seems to be remaking alot of different folk’s songs.
I’m a fan of DAVE!!!!!! all the way!!!
