The Sound Opinion is a blog about Christian music written by Christian music critics. The writers who contribute to The Sound Opinion have written about Christian music for years, and many have even worked within the Christian music industry throughout their career. It’s our desire, through The Sound Opinion, to provide a space for Christian music fans to engage in an ongoing conversation about the artists and songs they’re passionate about. We also hope fans will discover some new artists along the way. Our hope is that The Sound Opinion will be a place where honest opinions are shared, new music is reviewed, new artists are discovered, trends and events are discussed, and tastes in music are expanded and nurtured.

The Pioneer Woman and Christian Music
There’s a great discussion going on today over at The Pioneer Woman’s blog. And it’s about Christian music. A guest post by Sophie Hudson (who writes under the alias BooMama) provided some recommendations for readers–namely moms–in need of something to listen to other than singing veggies. Her suggestions? Sara Groves, Dave Barnes and NEEDTOBREATHE as well others on the outlining edges of Christian music like The Civil Wars and The Fray.

I read your article in Retailers & Resources (April 2013). The number #1 way shoppers in Christian retail discover and sample new artists and new releases is with myMEDIA BurnBar. in 460+ locations use the kiosks including all LifeWay and Mardel stores. The kiosks scan barcodes on CD/DVDs in stock, have some of the best lookup features for searches and also burn songs to a CD on the spot. Being located in Nashville, I’m surprised you didn’t know about us – all the music companies do!
