The Pioneer Woman
There’s a great discussion going on today over at The Pioneer Woman’s blog. And it’s about Christian music. A guest post by Sophie Hudson (who writes under the alias BooMama) provided some recommendations for readers–namely moms–in need of something to listen to other than singing veggies. Her suggestions? Sara Groves, Dave Barnes and NEEDTOBREATHE, as well others on the outlying edges of Christian music like The Civil Wars and The Fray. Indie artist Ben Rector also made her list. He’s an independent singer-songwriter who is currently opening for NEEDTOBREATHE. (And Chris August’s song “Loving You is Easy”? Ben co-wrote that with Chris.) While he mainly muses of love, Rector’s music often contains Christian undertones, and he’s a local Nashville favorite definitely worth checking out.
